American Airlines posts second quarterly loss as COVID-19 hammers demandWhile air travel had picked up over the past two months from pandemic-driven lows in April, demand has started slowing again as coronavirus cases surge across the United States and states re-impose quarantine restrictions. It reported a net loss of $2.07 billion, or $4.82 per share, for the quarter ended June 30, compared with a profit of $662 million, or $1.49 per share, a year earlier.
