• Woodside Energy posts Q3 2026 earnings

Woman looking at her computer and pondering something.

The Woodside Energy Group Ltd (ASX: WDS) share price is in focus after the company reported third-quarter results, delivering operating revenue of US$4,281 million (up 2% on Q2 2026) and lifting production by 12% thanks to robust LNG performance and improved portfolio reliability.

    What did Woodside Energy report?

    • Operating revenue: US$4,281 million, up 2% from the previous quarter
    • Production volumes: 46.2 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMboe), up 12% quarter-on-quarter
    • Realised LNG price: US$84/boe, a 27% increase compared to Q2 2026
    • Operational reliability: >99% at Sangomar, North West Shelf (NWS) Project LNG, and Pluto LNG
    • Capital expenditure: US$722 million, down from US$784 million in Q2 2026
    • Dividend: Paid US$1,084 million fully franked dividend in Q3 2026

What else do investors need to know?

Woodside made significant progress on its major growth projects, with the Scarborough Energy Project now 99% complete and on track to deliver first LNG cargo in the fourth quarter of 2026. The Trion Project reached 71% completion and is targeting first oil in 2028, while the Louisiana LNG Project advanced to 32% completion and aims to begin production in 2029.

During the quarter, Woodside agreed to sell its 70% interest in the Calypso Project to bp and wrapped up a strategic review at Beaumont New Ammonia (BNA)—now moving to reduce its investment amid a slower lower-carbon ammonia market. Reliability across key assets remained strong, offsetting some softer liquids pricing and unplanned events, including a short shutdown at BNA and three process safety incidents. Liquidity stood at around US$7.8 billion.

What did Woodside Energy management say?

    Woodside CEO Liz Westcott commented:

Amid ongoing volatility in global energy markets, we have remained a reliable supplier to our customers. Increased quarterly operating revenue reflected increased production and strong realised prices. We maintained outstanding reliability across our global portfolio, with reliability of 99.8% at Pluto LNG and 99.3% at the NWS Project in Australia, and 99.2% at Sangomar in Senegal. The Scarborough Energy Project is now 99% complete, and we remain on track for first LNG cargo this year. These actions demonstrate our disciplined approach to portfolio management and capital allocation, with a clear focus on investments that deliver long-term shareholder value.

    What’s next for Woodside Energy?

Woodside narrowed its full-year production guidance slightly to 174–181 MMboe, reflecting operational updates across its portfolio. Major project milestones remain on track, with first Scarborough LNG expected by year end and Trion and Louisiana LNG progressing toward targeted start-up dates.

The company continues to focus on cost reduction, portfolio streamlining, and energy transition opportunities. Next up, Woodside will hold its Capital Markets Day in November, where investors can expect more on the company’s long-term strategy and project pipeline.

    Woodside Energy share price snapshot

Over the past 12 months, Woodside Energy shares have risen 51%, outperforming the S&P/ASX 200 Index (ASX: XJO), which has declined 3% over the same period.

  • Atlas Arteria Q3 2026: US assets drive growth as French revenue slows

A woman looks over her shoulder towards the back seat while sitting at the wheel of a stationary car with a serious look on her face.

The Atlas Arteria Group (ASX: ALX) share price is in focus today after the company reported Q3 2026 proportional toll revenue down 0.4% on the prior year, while reported revenue slid 8.9% due to foreign exchange impacts.

    What did Atlas Arteria report?

    • Q3 2026 proportional toll revenue down 0.4% excluding FX, reported revenue down 8.9%
    • APRR (France) traffic fell 3.5%, toll revenue down 1.7%
    • Chicago Skyway (US) traffic up 6.4%, toll revenue up 9.6%
    • Dulles Greenway (US) traffic up 3.7%, toll revenue up 3.9%
    • A79 (France) traffic up 0.7%, toll revenue up 3.4%
    • Warnow Tunnel (Germany) traffic up 2.2%, toll revenue up 4.2%

What else do investors need to know?

The French Government has proposed potential changes to transport infrastructure taxes in its draft 2027 Budget Bill. If these increases go ahead, they could significantly raise costs for the APRR Group, with a €210 million estimated impact based on 2025 figures. The final details and timing depend on when the bill is enacted by the French Parliament.

High fuel prices continued to weigh on French light vehicle traffic during the quarter. In contrast, Atlas Arteria’s US and German operations saw solid traffic growth, helped by roadworks diverting vehicles onto its routes and stable macroeconomic conditions.

Toll price increases are planned in both Germany (Warnow Tunnel) from November 2026 and the US (Chicago Skyway) from January 2027, which could support future revenue streams.

    What’s next for Atlas Arteria?

Atlas Arteria will update investors once the outcome of the French Budget Bill debate is known, as these tax changes could impact future profitability. The company continues to monitor fuel price movements in France and expects continued growth in the US and Germany, especially as roadworks keep bolstering traffic numbers.

Planned toll increases on key assets are set to take effect in coming months, which may help offset softer performance in France. Atlas Arteria emphasises its ongoing commitment to long-term value through disciplined management and sustainable practices.

    Atlas Arteria share price snapshot

Over the past 12 months, Atlas Arteria shares have declined 25%, trailing the S&P/ASX 200 Index (ASX: XJO), which has declined 3% over the same period.

  • Buy, hold, sell: Deep Yellow, PLS, Pro Medicus shares

Man with hand to his forehead looking at his laptop.

If you are in the market for some new portfolio additions, it could be worth seeing what the team at Morgans is saying about the three ASX shares in this article.

Does the broker rate them as buys, holds, or sells? Let’s find out:

    Deep Yellow Ltd (ASX: DYL)

Morgans highlights that this uranium developer’s final investment decision (FID) for the Tumas project is behind schedule due to uncertain equity market and funding conditions.

Nevertheless, it remains positive and sees an opportunity for investors with a higher tolerance for risk to buy its shares. It has retained its speculative buy rating with a reduced price target of $1.50. Morgans said:

DYL has withdrawn its targeted 4Q26 Final Investment Decision (FID) for Tumas, citing weakness in equity market conditions and a constrained funding backdrop for uranium developers. The FID deferral is not entirely surprising given the weakness in DYL’s share price over recent months. In our view, raising equity at current levels would have represented an unattractive funding outcome for existing shareholders.

Importantly, we view this as a delay rather than a change in strategy, with DYL remaining focused on advancing Tumas and positioning the project for a future FID. We maintain our rating of SPECULATIVE BUY with a price target of A$1.50ps (previously A$1.95ps).

    PLS Group Ltd (ASX: PLS)

One ASX share that has made an FID this month is lithium miner PLS.

The decision was a touch mixed with higher capital expenditure but also higher steady-state production. As a result, the broker has retained its accumulate rating on PLS shares with a $3.70 price target. It said:

PLS has taken FID on the ~A$1.9bn P2000 expansion, lifting capacity to ~2Mtpa (from ~1.2Mtpa) with first production targeted in 1Q FY30. P2000 capex is ~20% above MorgansF, but steady-state production is higher (+16%) and sustaining + mine development spend lower (-14%). Maintain ACCUMULATE with A$3.70ps target price.

    Pro Medicus Ltd (ASX: PME)

Now could be a good time to buy Pro Medicus shares according to Morgans.

In response to a new contract win, the broker has upgraded its shares to a buy rating with a $230.00 price target. It commented:

PME has announced a further seven-year, A$24m full stack cloud contract with Billings Clinic Logan Health, its third new community health system win in FY27 to date (A$72m TCV, A$10.3m new ARR). The FY27 wins are modest individually but consistent in size, term and scope, pointing to a repeatable mid-market playbook that broadens the pipeline beyond large Integrated Delivery Networks.

Near-term focus shifts to RSNA in late November as the likely window for a larger deal, and to execution on a busy 1Q’CY27 go-live schedule underpinning FY28. We upgrade to a BUY (from Accumulate), with no change to our A$230 target price.
